This five-day workshop will start with large-scale papermaking as students prepare fiber and make large (approximately 6’ x 9’) sheets of paper which will be dyed using shibori dye techniques. The result will be diverse sheets of paper which will be torn into strips, shared with classmates and woven into a new 5’ x 8’ sheet with varying colors, textures and patterns. This project is designed to inspire creativity and each student will walk away with a sample of everyone’s technique at the end.
