Billy Evans started out as a sportswriter. He became a Hall of Fame umpire during the game’s early days — and remains the youngest arbiter in major league baseball history. He retired to become the Indians general manager — the first person with that title in baseball history — and also served as general manager for another League Park occupant, the NFL’s Cleveland Rams. This program is free and open to the public, and is made possible, in part,by a grant from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture (CAC).
