GroundWorks DanceTheater Gets People Moving with "It's Your Move" Project

Cuyahoga Arts & Culture recently spoke with GroundWorks DanceTheater’s managing director Beth Rutowski about the dance company’s It's Your Move project.

In a nutshell, "It's Your Move" is a video project that encourages people to send a video of themselves moving. GroundWorks asks you to “move” in response or reaction to a "move" they initiate through a video prompt sent out by email, Facebook, etc . In the coming weeks, GroundWorks will send out a “move of the week” and the hope is that people will be inspired to show us their “move.” More...

Hospice of the Western Reserve recognizes Cuyahoga Arts & Culture with Community Builder Award

Cleveland (August 14, 2013) - Hospice of the Western Reserve has awarded Cuyahoga Arts & Culture with its Community Builder Award, which “recognizes an organization that provides exemplary support to Hospice of the Western Reserve’s vital role in the community.” Hospice of the Western Reserve receives funding through Cuyahoga Arts & Culture’s Project Support grant program for its art therapy programs for the bereaved. In Pictures: Esperanza's Ceramic Mural Project

This summer, local Hispanic high school students are creating a ceramic mural that depicts the educational struggles experienced by the Hispanic community, and the students' hopes and dreams for the future. Cuyahoga Arts & Culture Receives Clean Audit for Sixth Consecutive Year

Ohio Auditor of State Finds No Deficiencies in CAC Financial Audit

CLEVELAND (June 17, 2013) – For the sixth year in a row, Cuyahoga Arts & Culture’s annual financial review by the Ohio Auditor of State has resulted in a clean audit report (available on the Auditor of State’s website). For its fiscal year 2012, Cuyahoga Arts & Culture (CAC) was awarded the highest rating and the Auditor of State Award, which includes no findings for “recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, Single Audit findings or questioned costs.” Each year since CAC was created by the voters of Cuyahoga County, it has achieved a clean audit report.
