CAC Invites All Residents of Cuyahoga County to Vote for Arts and Culture Projects Through February 20
CLEVELAND (February 1, 2013) – Cuyahoga Arts & Culture (CAC) invites all residents of Cuyahoga County to vote to help decide which two new creative projects will come to life in our community. The final results from the vote will help determine how CAC will invest up to $300,000 in two large-scale arts or cultural projects through its Creative Culture Grants program.
Residents are invited to vote online at www.cacgrants.org/vote, or they may request a paper ballot by calling (216) 515-8303. View the details about the program at http://www.cacgrants.org/creative-culture-grants.php and information about the six finalist projects at http://www.cacgrants.org/creative-culture-grants-finalists.php.
“The residents of Cuyahoga County took a big leap forward some years ago when they approved the use of local public dollars to support arts and culture. Now, it’s their turn to help decide how their dollars are spent. We invite all County residents to get involved by casting their vote to help determine which two of these exciting projects will be funded,” said Karen Gahl-Mills, Cuyahoga Arts & Culture’s executive director.
Arts and culture organizations based in Cuyahoga County proposed many creative and diverse projects that have been narrowed down to the top six by an independent panel of arts and culture experts. The public vote will help decide which two projects will be funded.
Residents in Cuyahoga County may vote on which projects they want to see happen in our community beginning February 1. In order to be eligible to vote, individuals must be of at least 13 years of age and reside in Cuyahoga County. Residents may vote in two ways:
• Online until February 20 at 11:59 p.m. EST. The link to the online voting site will go live at http://www.cacgrants.org/vote on February 1.
• By mail until February 15 at 4:30 p.m. EST. Paper ballots will be available for download at http://www.cacgrants.org/creative-culture-grants.php beginning February 1, or by calling (216) 515-8303. Paper ballots must be delivered in person or by U.S. mail to Cuyahoga Arts & Culture’s offices (1501 Euclid Avenue, Suite 407, Cleveland, Ohio, 44115) by February 15 at 4:30 p.m. EST.
Cuyahoga Arts & Culture’s Board of Trustees is expected to approve and announce the winning projects during its regular meeting which begins at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25, and the projects will take place between March 2013 and August 2014.
