2008 Project Support Grant Panel Review Scores Announced

Thursday May 29–Cuyahoga Arts and Culture (CAC) today announced the scores received by eligible applicants for its 2008 Project Support grant program at the public Grant Application Panel Review held on April 23 and 24 at Trinity Commons in Downtown Cleveland.

A panel of eight arts and cultural professionals and a non-voting panel chair appointed by the CAC Board of Trustees met to review eligible applications. Each eligible application was deliberated by the Panel and then, by a show of hands, the Panel determined whether to score each application.

The Panel scored on a point scale. The total number of points received could be as high as 100 or as low as 0. The Olympian Method is used to reach an aggregate panel score for each applicant. If the Panel chose not to score an application, it received a score of “0”.

CAC’s 2008 Project Support grant guidelines state that any applicant receiving a score below 65 is ineligible for PS grant funding. Applicants scoring between 65 to 100 points will be eligible for PS funding. However, being eligible for PS funding does not guarantee a PS grant. The higher the score of the application, the higher the probability of receiving a PS grant and the larger the percentage of the grant request could be awarded.

Applicants receiving a final aggregate score of 90 points or higher could receive a grant award equal to their grant request. All applicants that receive a final aggregate score of less than 90 points should expect to receive a lower percent of their grant request. It is possible that all of the allocated PS grant funds could be awarded to those applicants scoring higher and applicants scoring lower will not receive funding.

Grant Awards to be announced on June 10, 2008

On June 10, 2008, the CAC Board of Trustees will meet to approve 2008 PS Grant awards. Grant awards will be available as soon as the CAC Board has voted approval. Grantees will then receive a packet from CAC that includes a grant agreement, award letter and other information such as that about the Grantee match requirement for CAC’s funds. Note: All CAC funds must be matched on a dollar for dollar basis with other sources of earned and contributed income. CAC funds will not be disbursed to Grantees until matching funds are committed.
