Know the Facts: How Cuyahoga Arts & Culture Invests in the Arts

Last week, Cuyahoga Arts & Culture’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved spending $10.2 million for the General Operating Support (GOS) grant program in 2018-2019. That vote was taken at a public meeting, and it followed months of discussions with arts groups and public pronouncements signaling the funding level. Cuyahoga Arts & Culture Supports Free Summer Arts Events in Public Square

CLEVELAND (April 27, 2017) – This summer, Cuyahoga County residents and visitors to Public Square in downtown Cleveland will be able to enjoy a variety of free arts and culture events thanks to Arts & Culture in the Square, a program to bring additional programming to downtown Cleveland’s outdoor Public Square. National Endowment for the Arts

The President’s  current budget proposal eliminates funding for the National Endowment for the Arts. NEA has said that is “business as usual” until the proposed budget is finalized. 

Cuyahoga Arts & Culture has received a NEA grant to bring arts and culture to Public Square in Summer 2017, and that grant remains unchanged. We encourage you to learn more and submit ideas until March 29 at www.cacgrants.org/square.
