In Pictures: Esperanza's Ceramic Mural Project

This summer, local Hispanic high school students are creating a ceramic mural that depicts the educational struggles experienced by the Hispanic community, and the students' hopes and dreams for the future. The program is part of a summer experience for local Hispanic students organized by Esperanza, which includes fifteen two-hour workshops and studio time at the Beck Center in Lakewood.

The students' mural will be displayed at Bruno Casiano Gallery, 5304 Detroit Avenue in Cleveland, beginning August 2; members of the public are welcome to attend the opening reception on Friday, August 2, from 5 to 9 p.m.

In the coming months, the mural will be on display at various Cleveland Metropolitan School District schools, at the Beck Center for the Arts and at Esperanza.

This project received funding through Cuyahoga Arts & Culture’s Project Support grant program.
