CAC to Hold Panel Review Meetings in October to Review and Score Applications from 189 Cuyahoga County Arts and Cultural Organizations 21. September 2012 Staff News Release Community Invited to Watch Independent Panel Score Grant ApplicationsCLEVELAND (September 21, 2012) – Cuyahoga Arts & Culture (CAC) invites members of the community to observe its Panel Review meetings in October, during which arts and culture experts from around the country will review and score the applications of 189 arts and culture organizations based in Cuyahoga County who have applied for CAC funding in 2013. “Residents of Cuyahoga County have entrusted CAC with the responsibility of funding arts and cultural organizations in a manner that is fair, transparent, and impartial, and a key component of our process is the Panel Review meetings,” said Karen Gahl-Mills, executive director of CAC. “We conduct all of our meetings in public, and we invite the public to watch our grantmaking come to life through the Panel Review process, as independent arts and culture experts from all areas of the country adjudicate each application that may receive CAC funding in 2013.”During the Panel Review meetings, panelists will review and score the applications to CAC’s General Operating Support program in 2013-14 and Project Support program in 2013. Panelists will discuss and score applications to CAC’s General Operating Support program on October 8-10, and applications to the Project Support program on October 22-25, in the Smith Studio at the Idea Center at PlayhouseSquare. Applicants, members of the public, and members of the media are welcome to attend or listen to the panels streamed live online at www.cacgrants.org.The final award amounts for both grant programs will be announced at a meeting of the CAC’s Board of Trustees on Monday, November 19, at 4 p.m. at MOCA Cleveland.CAC’s mission is to inspire and strengthen the community by investing in arts and culture.
