CAC Board Approves $16.8 Million Budget for 2011

Cleveland (December 16, 2010) - The board of trustees for Cuyahoga Arts & Culture has approved a budget of $16.8 million for 2011. Approximately $15.8 million of that budget will be allocated to CAC’s grant programs for local arts and cultural organizations in Cuyahoga County, while the remainder will be used for administration and special projects.

Funded by a dedicated tax on cigarettes sold in Cuyahoga County, CAC expects tobacco tax revenue to drop from $17.4 million in 2010 to $16.6 million in 2011, as Ohioans continue to smoke less. Accordingly, CAC’s 2011 budget is approximately a half-million dollars less than in 2010.
