According to Achala Wali, CAC director of grant programs, “Many of the funded projects are volunteer-run, community-based projects that showcase the diversity of Cuyahoga County’s artistic and cultural wealth. In our experience we have found even small grants from CAC have provided organizations with the leverage to secure new funding, support their marketing plans and outreach efforts, or produce an extraordinary new and exciting program for the community.”

Karen Gahl-Mills, executive director of CAC, stressed the significance of the Project Support program, which, to date, has distributed more than $1.3 in support of more than one-hundred projects. “The possibilities for meaningful projects and profound impacts are clear,” stated Gahl-Mills. “Working creatively, efficiently, and so very hard, recipients of Project Support funding have already begun to establish models of creative collaborations that demonstrate the giftedness of this community and the gift that CAC is.”

Organizations that wish to apply for a 2011 Project Support grant must submit a hard copy of the Intent to Apply form (downloadable at and eligibility documentation to CAC by Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 4:30 PM.
