Cuyahoga Arts & Culture's Board of Trustees held its annual meeting on Wednesday, April 13. Here are key updates from the public meeting, which took place virtually and was streamed live on CAC's YouTube channel.
New Board Leadership
As is practice at the annual meeting, the
Board of Trustees elected a new slate of officers:
- Nancy Mendez, board president
- Michele Scott Taylor, board vice president
- Karolyn Isenhart, board secretary
The Trustees appointed Trustee Mendez and Trustee Charna Sherman as ex-officio board members of Assembly for the Arts for a one-year term.
Grantmaking and Finance Updates
The Board approved 2023 guidelines for the Project Support and Cultural Heritage grant programs. It appointed two community members, Ken Surratt and Ann McCarthy-Garland, to CAC’s Audit and Finance Advisory Committee.

American Rescue Plan Act Funds
The agency officially accepted $1.65M in ARPA funding from Cuyahoga County, pending County Council approval.

Assembly for the Arts shared an update about its efforts, along with CAC, to advocate for ARPA funding for the local creative economy.
