Cuyahoga Arts & Culture’s Board of Trustees held a regular meeting on Tuesday, September 21. Here are key updates from the public meeting, which took place at Cuyahoga County Public Library's South Euclid-Lyndhurst Branch and was streamed live on CAC's YouTube channel.
- COVID-19 Impact Update: At the meeting, CAC shared a report on the impact of COVID-19 on CAC’s General Operating Support grant recipients through June 2021. Despite wider economic gains, arts institutions aren’t making up lost ground. View the news release and impact report. Media coverage from the report included:
- Assembly for the Arts: CAC welcomed Jeremy Johnson, the newly appointed President & CEO of Assembly for the Arts, who provided an overview of the recently launched organization and its priorities. CAC Trustees Charna Sherman and Nancy Mendez were appointed in their official capacities as CAC board members to serve on the board of Assembly earlier this year. CAC looks forward to working closely with Assembly, who will serve nonprofits, artists, and the broader creative business community.
- Finance Update: CAC shared a year-to-date financial update and announced that it has has received its 14th consecutive “clean” audit report from the Ohio Auditor of State and was awarded the Auditor of State Award. Learn more.
- Board Update: At the meeting, Trustee Gary Hanson announced his resignation from CAC’s board, effective September 30, 2021, as he assumes the role of interim president of University Circle, Inc. We thank Gary for his leadership and wish him well in this new endeavor.
