Two Trustees Named to Cuyahoga Arts & Culture’s Board

CLEVELAND (August 31, 2018) – Charna E. Sherman has been reappointed and Gary Hanson has been appointed by County Executive Armond Budish to serve three-year terms commencing April 1, 2018 and ending March 31, 2021 on the Cuyahoga Arts & Culture (CAC) Board of Trustees. Mr. Hanson was sworn in at a special meeting today by Sherman, who serves as CAC’s Board President.

Ms. Sherman joined the CAC Board of Trustees in April 2015. A Beachwood resident, she is an accomplished trial lawyer specializing in complex commercial litigation. Mr. Hanson is an arts administrator and former director of The Cleveland Orchestra. He is a resident of Cleveland Heights.

“The CAC staff looks forward to working with Gary and Charna over the next three years,” said Jill M. Paulsen, interim executive director + CEO of Cuyahoga Arts & Culture. “Both are passionate and knowledgeable about the varied arts and culture organizations in Cuyahoga County and will be great assets to our Board.”

Cuyahoga Arts & Culture is governed by a Board of Trustees consisting of five members who serve rotating three-year terms without compensation. Board members are appointed by the Cuyahoga County Executive and confirmed by Cuyahoga County Council. All CAC Board of Trustees meetings are open to the public.
