CLEVELAND (April 3, 2023) – Dr. Michele Scott Taylor was reappointed, and Daniel Blakemore was appointed by County Executive Chris Ronayne and approved by County Council to serve on the Cuyahoga Arts & Culture (CAC) Board of Trustees.
CAC is governed by a Board of Trustees consisting of five members who serve rotating three-year terms without compensation. Board members are appointed by the Cuyahoga County Executive and confirmed by Cuyahoga County Council.
Dr. Scott Taylor has served on CAC’s Board since 2020 and is currently the Board Vice President. As Chief Program Officer at College Now Greater Cleveland, she provides strategic leadership for programmatic efforts, including school- and community-based advising programs and federal programs including Talent Search, GEAR Up, and Upward Bound. She is also the CEO of Global Learning Solutions, a decade-old consulting firm serving dozens of nonprofits across the region. She chairs the board of the Black Professionals Association Charitable Foundation and is a former board member of Arts Impact, formerly Progressive Arts Alliance.
“Dr. Scott Taylor has been an asset to our board over the last three years, helping CAC to triple the number of Black and brown-led and serving organizations that receive funding and supporting CAC’s overall approach to providing technical assistance to all grant applicants” said CAC Board President Nancy Mendez. “We appreciate her continued leadership and look forward to another term.”
Mr. Blakemore is the Philanthropy Director for the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park and has two decades of experience in the arts and culture sector. He has previously held roles with Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens and Third Street Music School Settlement and is a volunteer with the African American Archives Auxiliary at Western Reserve Historical Society.
“Daniel brings a wealth of experience in philanthropy and environmental and history nonprofits, which are a key aspect of CAC’s grantmaking,” said Jill M. Paulsen, executive director of Cuyahoga Arts & Culture. “We are excited to welcome him to our board.”
Dr. Taylor and Mr. Blakemore have been appointed to three-year terms ending March 31, 2026.
