What to Expect at June’s Board of Trustees Meeting

Cuyahoga Arts & Culture’s Board of Trustees has a Regular Meeting on Tuesday, June 12 at 4 p.m. in the Miller Classroom at Idea Center, 1375 Euclid Ave., Cleveland. The meeting is expected to run until about 6:30 p.m. We hope you will join us.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Board Work Session. The majority of the meeting will be a board work session. During the work session, Business Volunteers Unlimited will present best practices for an executive director search and facilitate board discussion on the topic. Karen Gahl-Mills, CEO + executive director announced in April that she will resign on June 7, 2018. Jill Paulsen, CAC’s deputy director, will serve as interim CEO + executive director. Members of the public are permitted to observe the work session.
  • Support for Artists Update. CAC’s staff will present an update on work to provide support and funding to Cuyahoga County artists in 2018.  CAC will ask the Board to approve a contract with the Center for Performance and Civic Practice (CPCP) to pilot a program for collaborative learning between artists and civic partners. This is one – but not the only – way that CAC will partner to respond to the needs of individual artists; a public call for additional nonprofit partners is open now.
